Since its launch in October , the marine centre has rescued, treated and cared for multiple endangered green sea turtles (Chelonia mydas) and one critically-endangered Hawksbill (Eretmochelys imbricata). To date, the centre has released four turtles - Bobby, Ninja, Carmen and Nick Jr. all of which have undergone rehabilitation and research. Plantations currently surround the park on the north, east and southern sides, and are operated by both state-owned and foreign companies. In the face of rapid population growth among nonindigenous people in northern Borneo, the Kadazan and other indigenous people are struggling to retain their traditional systems for managing the ecosystem.

At the Tabin reserve is an interesting mud volcano which attracts wildlife because of its high salt content. It is like a giant salt lick. Borneo is a bird watchers paradise containing 42 indigenous families representing species. Its other indigenous wildlife and plants also share this uniqueness. Tour Guide. Any trip to Sabah is wonderful.   Sabah Malaysia – In the Northern-most tip of the Borneo Island of Malaysia lies Sabah, a pint-sized region encompassing a chunk of the mainland and sprinkles of smaller islands surrounding it. Whilst neither its name nor reputation precedes it, Sabah is a diamond in the rough, with colourful coral reefs brimming with a massive aquamarine ecosystem, villagers co-existing in luscious jungles.
